Ex-Library

Undecided Just FYI: If you are using the term "Ex-Library" in the condition text of your listings, Barnes and Noble does not recognize this as a condition and will error your listing out. I put it in the condition box because other venues do recognize it and am short about 500 listings on B&N. That is a lot of extra work. I hope they are worth it.

Yes, ex-library is a description usually, but not a condition.   You could have a ‘good’ ex-library or a ‘fair’ ex-library.  The condition is separate from, although influenced by, being ex-library.

Other venues may allow it to sneak through, but none include it as one of their condoned condition choices.  It may go through on Amazon because that upload is guided by the numerical condition code.  Alibris might automatically assign them to “good,” as that is what they will do with a VG, for example, that has ‘ex-library’ somewhere in the description.  Following are two good references to see what the accepted condition ratings are.  You will note as with the IOBA that ex-library is specifically dealt with as a descriptive term that is separate from the condition:
